         Food on SHINE

Yahoo has added a site called Shine that was
created by a group of women who wanted a
forum for women that eliminated the
boundaries and categories that still seem to
stereotype women and their interests. The site
has articles on every topic you could think of.

Food on SHINE has recipes for every type of
dish and articles from the staff and user posts
as well.

The category list lets you jump to your favorite food and the recipes can
be simple to complex. This Creamy Artichoke Lasagna is medium
difficulty. Click on the picture to go to the site and the recipe.

Based on reader response, calorie and fat content will soon be added!

Hooray!
The Heart of the Home
Most people have been to that
party where everyone ends up in
                                                            the kitchen. No wonder the
                                                            kitchens of today incorporate
                                                            more elements that invite
                                                            gathering.

                                                          Center islands with seating on
one side (to kibitz the chef!),
                                                           tables with banquettes instead of
the standard 4 chairs, and a lot of
design that breaks down the wall
                                                           between the kitchen and the
                                                           traditional dining room.

                                                        Imagine an open kitchen/family
room with comfy sofas and chairs
or a big tavern table that does double
duty as an eating place, desk to do homework, or a place to gather for
family games or crafts. How fun!

There is no right or wrong way to
design a kitchen. Today anything
goes and that leaves the possibilities
wide open! Hooray!

If your kitchen could use a
pick-me-up but the process seems
daunting, let us help you get started.
As you can see, we love food, so
we'd love to gather in Your kitchen!

         Food Network

The Food Network had recently
been going through some tough
times. Major cable networks had
taken them off their programming
due to negotiations of their parent
company. Many fans were unable
to tune into their favorite shows.

Food Network's website and
Facebook page kept loyal viewers up
to date with recipes and favorite chefs. Thank goodness!
You'd be really hard-pressed to find a better venue for such a range
of culinary delights. And the recipes! Forget about it!!! Click
here or the
picture for 50 great soup recipes. Quick, easy and all sound so good
you'll want to start at #1 and make them all!

I think I'll start with Cheddar-Horseradish, or maybe the Potato Chowder....

    Mother Nature Network

New years bring new resolutions and
new ideas. Among my many recent
obsessions is trying my best to think
GREEN.

The Mother Nature Network is a full-
service provider of Green Living today.
It's many writers blog about anything
from the newest technology gadget
to the bicycles that could replace cars!

The food blogger is all over the map, writing about Eco-friendly bars to
seed-swapping websites. Click
here to read about growing the ingredients to make
your own pizza!

Good thing it's spring. I think besides tomatoes I'll have onions, maybe some basil...

Enjoy!

     Martha Stewart Everyday Food

People either lover her or hate her, but no one
can deny her talents or her ideas.

I love Martha Stewart because what she creates
and comes up with can appeal to anyone. I admit
to making her website one of my go-to spots for
recipe ideas. I even did a baby shower using her
exclusively and it couldn't have gone better!
People made yummy noises and cleaned me out!
That is the most satisfying thing, as any cook will tell you.

Check out her
website for themed ideas or for many choices for just one
dish. It just may lead to some other fun things to try!

     Williams-Sonoma

This website is a two-fold,
double-whammy. First there are all
the great cooking gadgets, pots,
pans, utensils,
oh-boy-anything-you-could-think-of
fun things that any cook would want!
And then, the recipes! Oy!

When I get the catalog in the mail,
I'm positively giddy and can't wait to
check out the rest of the new items and recipes online. I admit to keeping
my catalogs in magazine holders, to peruse and use later: my own personal
Williams-Sonoma cookbooks. And I haven't even mentioned their blog,
The Blender! You have to go and snoop around, there is so much inform-
ation and expertise. I love it!
